Nassau cops are searching for a "person of interest" in what they described as the targeted killings of three women in a Hempstead home. The women sustained blunt force trauma to their bodies, according to police.

A fourth lady survived the strike and is hospitalized.

Detectives are continuing their investigation. "He went to the garage".

Vanderhall then found his mother in the living room and started to bludgeon her with the hammer, police said.

Specialists say the three ladies were discovered dead inside the Vanderhall's Hempstead, New York, home of "limit constrain injury" at around 2:15 a.m. "With this framing hammer he broke through the basement door of the residence".

Vanderhall's behavior had become more troubling recently, leading his mother to obtain an order of protection against him, authorities said. Bobby Vanderhall stayed in the house for a short time before fleeing, and was apprehended within a two-mile radius of the scene sleeping in a auto, said Fitzpatrick.
