Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has once again opened up on the exit of Nemanja Matic, who has signed for their Premier League rivals, Manchester United.

And while Chelsea have moved to plug the gap by signing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, Scholes is not convinced Blues boss Antonio Conte has got the better end of the deal.

Chelsea have added Tiémoué Bakayoko to their midfield ranks to provide cover for Matic's departure.

"That's the one that surprised me".

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has warned Tottenham Hotspur that England global Ross Barkley will only be sold in a big deal as Toffees look to secure £50m for the playmaker.

"Petr had done such a lot for the club, Thibaut Courtois had come in and it would have been harsh to stop him moving to Arsenal when he was so settled in London, but this is different".

"This doesn't seem quite the same, but at the same time we don't know whether Matic wanted to leave".

Manchester United are ready to hand Ivory Coast global Serge Aurier a five-year contract as the Red Devils look to make the Paris Saint-Germain defender their fourth summer signing.

"They have weakened their own team and strengthened Manchester United, who now have a better chance of winning the Premier League than Chelsea".

On the eve of the first Saturday of the new Premier League season, it is always worth consulting the mood of each camp before the marathon begins.

Conte's most recent interview, given with Sky Sports on Wednesday, has given the clearest indication that the 29-year-old's sale was not to his liking. He is unhappy with the current squad at his disposal and Mourinho - heading into pre-season following a relatively trouble free summer and with his desired squad, save for a winger - can take plenty of responsibility for leaving the angry Italian short-changed on the eve of his side's title defence.
