If the deal does indeed go through, Amorim would become Manchester United's fourth signing of the summer transfer window after the captures of Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic.

Reports have also suggested that United have targeted the signing of Real Madrid's Gareth Bale, but the Red Devils have also focused efforts on bolstering their academy ranks. And, with just four appearances under his belt, the player could be on his way to Old Trafford.

'He (Amorim) had been promoted to the main squad but the scouting was already alert and made a decision to take him there, ' he told Agencia Lusa.

Oliveirense director Antonio Jose Leite all but confirmed the player's impending move, stating that the transfer is "90% done" while also highlighting the fact that he has been promoted to the first-team setup this season and was in line to be a part of Pedro Miguel's side. The contract will shortly be announced, but he is a future bet at United.

The 19-year-old has been on trial at United's Carrington training complex and has impressed enough to be offered a contract.

"[Oliveirense] will receive training rights, because he has been developed here, although in monetary terms [the club] may not receive more than that, because there may be other stipulations", he said.

Amorim will join fellow new-boys Largie Ramazani and Aliou Badara Traore in United's Under-23s side this season. These details are not yet defined.

And 19-year-old Oliveirense striker Bruno Amorim is reportedly the next young talent heading to Old Trafford.

Amorim is expected to be part of Nicky Butt's Under-23 squad, rather than pushing for a place in Jose Mourinho's first-team plans.
