Sri Lanka Playing 11: Dimuth Karunaratne, Upul Tharanga, Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal (c), Angelo Mathews, Niroshan Dickwella, Dilruwan Perera, Malinda Pushpakumara, Lakshan Sandakan, Vishwa Fernando, Lahiru Kumara.

India will still take their overnight total considering the amount of times the lower order has contributed while Sri Lanka looks more determined to knock off the remaining four early on Day 2.

Left-arm spinner Jadeja was banned for one match for unsafe play in India's second Test win that secured the team an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Virat Kohli and his Team India have the edge despite losing 6 wickets on opening day of the third Test against Sri Lanka and will play with a lot of confidence of Day Two of the Test.

Resuming the final session at 235/3, left-arm spinner Pushpakumara scalped the wicket of Rahane before Sandakan sent Kohli back into the hut just when the skipper was looking good with three fours.

But the day so far has belonged to Pandya, who built crucial partnerships including a 66-run tenth-wicket stand with Umesh Yadav.

The opening session of the Test belonged to the Indian openers as they milked the bowling attack to put on 188 runs for the opening wicket, bettering the record of 171-run stand between Manoj Prabhakar and Navjot Singh Sidhu (1993). He added 31 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara (8) but the latter did not look very comfortable despite good batting conditions.

"Even though we did not have practice today, we are comfortable going into the Test match as we are in a good zone". This young team has been chasing leather this whole series - India scored 600, 240/3 and 622/9 in three innings in Galle and SSC.

Rahul had reached his fifty off 67 deliveries to join an elite list of cricketers who jointly hold the world record for most consecutive half-centuries or more.

Otherwise, he simply took the singles on offer against Sri Lanka's defensive fields.

On chinaman Kuldeep Yadav, who is tipped to replace the Saurashtra player, Kohli said: "A guy like Kuldeep Yadav is willing to bowl in any situation".

The most runs conceded in an over in global cricket is 36 - a six from every ball - which has happened in both limited overs formats, and twice in first-class cricket but never in a Test match. It can be argued that all three of his victims - Rahul, Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane - got out while going for shots but Pushpakumara can't be denied credit.
