DeSantis introduced an amendment to the House-passed defense spending bill this summer which authorizes the Secretary of Defense to terminate or prohibit contracts with China companies found to have ties to North Korea. "Kim Jong Un, the world always thought he was not a responsible leader; well, he's acting more responsible than this guy is".

Food prices rose by 0.2 percent in July after coming in unchanged in June, while energy prices edged down by 0.1 percent after tumbling by 1.6 percent in the previous month.

"That was one of those I wish I'd not said", Ellison explained.

On Friday, Trump changed the tone of some of his recent bombastic comments and worked to sooth tensions with North Korea. "It's tailor-made for somebody to misuse".

Bookmaker Paddy Power has slashed the odds on the possibility of the world ending this year from 500/1 to 100/1, implying the likelihood is five times higher now that President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un are exchanging heated threats. Ellison, a Minnesota Democrat, later retracted that but still said he thinks Trump is "irresponsible".

"I know people say the rhetoric wasn't stopping the advancement of their weapons, but we're tracking it and we have the technology to intercept", McCaskill said Friday. "What we need is someone bringing calm to the situation, not spiking it".

The Republican National Committee's rapid-response director, Michael Ahrens, sent video of Ellison's remarks to reporters, calling it "insane", according to The Washington Post.
