Jose Mourinho looking for more goalscorers at Manchester United

The United manager believes Ibrahimovic still has unfinished business in the Premier League despite the serious knee injury that cut short his first season in England. I want the team to be on a par with the club's history, which is something I've been lucky enough to feel at every club.

Having added Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic to his squad, Mourinho is hoping United make at least one more signing before the window closes, with Gareth Bale, Ivan Perisic and Danny Rose among those linked with a move.

Mourinho played a three-man defence at times in the Super Cup, just as he has in some pre-season games, and is ready to deploy it domestically as well. What we had was midfielders, wingers, scoring, central defenders scoring goals at set pieces.

"We always had that so my teams always had the goalscorer, we always had the guy that scores more goals, but then we had the winger that scored 15 goals, we had the midfield player who scored 10 goals, we had the central defender that scored five goals".

"The challenge is to win more matches than we did, by scoring more or conceding less, I don't know".

"To try to develop things that we normally don't do and in this moment there are so many teams playing with three in the back and wing-backs that probably sometimes we have to play that way".

And the United manager has pointed out that his remarkable record of winning the domestic title in the second season at his previous clubs offers no guarantees that the trend will continue this term.

"So between the players we lost and the players we got, I think we are in a similar situation".

"What would it mean for me to be the Premier League champion?"

"We are just in a position to do quality work better than in the first".

The Sweden global was United's top scorer last season, hitting 28 goals as they won the Europa League, the League Cup and the Community Shield. "I would say seven teams fight for the title and 20 to fight for victory every match. Last season, two of them were not in Europe", Mourinho said. This time we are all in the same basket, it is going to be the same for everybody.

"Some, okay, have the luck to play Tuesday or Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday, but in the end the same number of matches".

"Arsenal and Everton, they are in the Europa League. But we have players and if we can not strengthen the team in these areas, we have players that we trust".

"It was very clear by showing what he did a year ago was not enough for him", he said. But for the beginning of the season, we lost important players, too [to injury].
