Bollywood hit filmmaker Karan Johar on Saturday launched the much-awaited teaser of young heartthrob Dulquer Salman's upcoming film Solo.

Actor Dulquer Salmaan is all set to enter Bollywood through Ronnie Screwvala's yet-untitled production. The film is not a commercial entertainer but the story has a light-hearted comedy that will see Dulquer and Irrfan as friends on a road trip. Mithila Parkar, known for web series Girl In The City and Little Things, will be the female lead. Abhishek Bachchan was initially approached to play the part but it seems that the actor couldn't allot dates because the schedule was clashing with his other film, JP Dutta's Paltan which has already gone on floors. Akash Khurana, who has co-written the script with Hussain Dalal, the dialogue writer for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States will be making his directorial debut with this venture.

If the movie happens, it would be a real treat for all Dulquer Salmaan fans and we, the Malayalam film audiences will see him scaling newer heights. "The film rolls by the month end in Kerala". All in all, Mammootty could not find much success in Bollywood.

The film is expected to release later this year in Malayalam and Tamil. Then there are also Parava, directed by Soubin Shahir and a movie with Anjali Menon.
