The striker went AWOL on the eve of the Bundesliga start as he tries to force through a move to the Nou Camp as part of the Neymar replacement project.

Barca have also had a bid rejected for Ousmane Dembele, who has since been suspended by Borussia Dortmund after failing to turn up to training earlier this week.

Bosz, chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke and sporting director Michael Zorc held a meeting on Saturday night and they have now chose to extend Dembele's suspension "until further notice" and he will have to train on his own.

"Our complete focus lies on having a on having a good preparation for our first Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg next week", sporting director Michael Zorc said.

The France global was one of Dortmund's best players last season as they finished third in the Bundesliga, scoring six goals and contributing a further 12 assists in 32 league appearances.

Speculation is suggesting that Barcelona have not given up hope of signing Ousmane Dembele, far from it.

The 20-year-old Frenchman skipped training on Thursday and was swiftly suspended by the Bundesliga club for the weekend's DFB-Pokal first-round encounter with minnows Rielasingen-Arlen.

The player is apparently furious as a verbal agreement he had with Dortmund that the German club would let him move to an elite-level club is not being honoured.

Dembele is under contract with Dortmund until 2021 and an initial offer from Barcelona, reportedly worth €100m has been rejected by Dortmund.

Inter Milan have slapped an asking price of around £48m for the transfer of Perisic, something Barcelona could comfortably afford after the sale of Neymar, which was paid in full by the Ligue 1 club.

But his impressive performances - he scored six goals and provided 12 assists - have made him one of the hottest young properties in Europe.
