Android Headlines spotted an FCC filing from Samsung showing off a Samsung Gear Sport, a thus-far nonexistent smartwatch or fitness device of some kind. Based on recent reports, Samsung will be pulling up its socks and getting back into the game with the release of its next sports watch and it could be as soon as this month. The device carries a model number of SM-R600 and capable of monitoring heart rate. However, it is suggested that the Samsung Gear Sport is meant to bridge the gap that exists between a fitness tracker and a smartwatch. While the Gear Fit 2 Pro is believed to be launched sometime around the launch of the Galaxy Note 8, the Gear Sport is likely to be showcased at the IFA 2017 show floor in Berlin.

According to rumors, the smartwatch will probably consist of features such as on-board Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Given that it's passing through the FCC right now, the device is probably nearly ready to be released. Whether a significant update to the watch's Tizen OS will be made or not is yet to be seen.

Samsung has been quietly working on its next wearable device which is neither going to be a traditional smartwatch nor exactly a Fitness band. In this image we can see a device that's almost identical to the Samsung Gear S3 - save some small differences.
