Jose Mourinho insists he "will not cry or moan" if Manchester United cannot secure him a fourth summer signing before the transfer window closes.

The 35-year-old Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals before a serious knee injury brought his first season at Old Trafford to a halt in April.

The Red Devils have already signed three players in the summer transfer window ahead of their return to the Champions League this season.

'Maybe he'll stay with us, ' Mourinho said before United's Super Cup defeat by Real Madrid.

"In my initial analysis from January and through the months I was thinking of four players but I'm not a hard person to work with in spite of if you make it look different", he said at his pre-match presser.

"I am really happy to start the Premier League this weekend because our pre-season was very complete in a way where we start playing against Major League Soccer teams and we end it playing against the best teams in Europe", he said.

Other clubs are also showing an interest in Ibrahimovic and the Swede has been linked with a move to the MLS with Los Angeles Galaxy, while another of him former clubs in the shape of AC Milan are keen to give him the platform for one last hurrah. Victor [Lindelof] can play right-back, centre midfield.

Manchester United begin their bid to be genuine Premier League title contenders tomorrow, when they face West Ham knowing that an improvement in home form is vital.

"In my initial analysis, coming from January and through the other months, I was thinking about four players. I'm happy with the effort the club did and I'm happy they managed to do 75 percent of the work before the Premier League starts".

"So between the players we lost and the players we got, I think we are in a similar situation".

"I don't think I am in a position to be moaning and crying". If the remaining 25 per cent doesn't arrive, I will not moan.

"We always had more goals with wingers, midfielders getting 10 goals, central defenders getting five goals and last season that did not happen much". We got a central midfielder, a striker, obviously the 25% would be for a player from the sides, but we have players.

"But we are involved in four competitions and step by step, match after match we are going to fight".

After his side went up to collect their runners up medals, the United boss handed his to a Nigerian kid, Deji in the stands in Macedonia, a kind gesture he has made a habit of in recent years.
