That was the view of Jamie Carragher at half-time of Liverpool's opening Premier League game of the campaign against Watford.

He has handed in a transfer request at St Mary's Stadium in an attempt to leave the side he joined from Celtic in the summer of 2015.

That is the opinion of an angry Jamie Carragher, who was working as a pundit on the game at Vicarage Road. What defenders can do it? Everyone has got their own individual job.

Liverpool started the second half brightly and took the lead thanks to quick-fire goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

"Hopefully he'd make a difference on set-pieces, he's a bit taller, but if he was playing today instead or Lovren of Matip, he'd have been in their position".

'There are two ways of marking at a set piece and Liverpool are bad at zonal marking, ' Carragher said on Sky Sports, while critiquing Liverpool's defending for the Watford opener.

But Carragher continued to argue that the Reds' system would still undermine their defensive personnel. One player's not going to change that'.

"They play so high and wide, if you're a centre-back you're exposed all the time, it's culture".

Much of the reason as to why Moreno is still at the club is down to his impressive form during pre-season and Carragher isn't happy Jurgen Klopp is judging the full-back on those displays.

"Chelsea and Liverpool are in the hunt for him and while I think he'll choose Anfield, I can't wait to see where he goes".

Do YOU want to write for GiveMeSport? The manager has been there 18 months now but there has been no change.

"We're still seeing the same things year in, year out, and it went back to Brendan Rodgers as well".

Liverpool will now dust themselves down as they look to get back on track when the take on Hoffenheim in their Champions League play-off first leg on Tuesday night.

"You think where they were weak last season: set pieces, getting done on the counter-attack, that's what happened with the first goal - for the corner - it comes from a counter attack".

But the former Reds centre-back is correct in suggesting that Klopp needs to address flaws in his setup, as they are only fated to remain regardless.
