Federal govt to fund Rs 30bn projects in Karachi, Hyderabad: PM

"Soon work on the Rs25 billion-development package would start under the supervision of Sindh governor, ' he told journalists here".

He said during his meeting with Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair he discussed in detail the development projects, including the construction of roads, improvement of traffic system and water supply schemes.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived in Karachi for a day-long visit Saturday, the first time he has visited the city after being elected the prime minister.

Abbasi was also briefed on the preparation of plans to address the development deficit in the infrastructure development projects in the province as well as the provincial capital.

Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah and Governor Mohammad Zubair welcomed him, reports the Dawn.

He assured the AJK Prime Minister that federal government would extend its full cooperation to state government for the development and prosperity of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He has held meetings with party leaders of Muttahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP). The MQM leaders during the meeting demanded that their workers in custody be released and their sealed offices opened.

Talking about the support the MQM-P had extended to him during his election as PM, Abbasi said the party had given him unconditional support. During the meeting, issues concerning law and order and development came under discussion.

Speaking about problems being faced by traders, the prime minister said that their difficulties would be resolved on priority basis.
