President Trump: US military 'locked and loaded' on North Korea

The United States is ready with "military solutions" for the North Korea threat, President Donald Trump said Friday morning, promising they are "locked and loaded".

Trump said earlier this week the USA would unleash "fire and fury" on North Korea if it continued to threaten the US and then said his rhetoric might not have been harsh enough. "Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!"

The warnings from Trump come as China - North Korea's primary ally - issued a veiled warning to the U.S. "Maybe it wasn't tough enough", Trump said Thursday.

But the president did not seem intimidated by a North Korean warning that it was willing to fire missiles at Guam - a strategic US Pacific island - stating that any US response to hostilities should leave the one-party state "very, very nervous".

Thursday, Trump warned North Korea again not to strike Guam, a major military hub and home to United States bombers, saying his earlier threat to unleash "fire and fury" on Pyongyang if it launched an attack may not have been tough enough.

He said that he had already chose to increase the "antimissile" budget "by many billions of dollars, because of North Korea and other reasons". If North Korea is seen to be preparing for a launch against Guam, the United States has the option of launching a strike to take them out on the ground. "There will never be a time that we are not the most powerful nation in the world".

The Korean Central News Agency reported that the proposal would be forwarded to leader Kim once plans had been finalised. North Korea added that Trump's statement was "nonsense" and called him "bereft of reason".
