Microsoft launches Xbox Live Creators Program

The Alpha ring, for example, is now able to test the new dashboard design that was announced recently, before this trickles down to Beta and the newly branded Delta and Omega tiers.

However, Microsoft is now opening up its Xbox Live Creators Program to the public, allowing indie game makers to become their own publisher while opening up players to new, creator-driven games on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

The overarching system will remain the same, with four different groups or rings of users, each giving you varying levels of early access.

According to Microsoft, anyone who is signed up with Xbox One Insider program will be able to try out insider updates before they get released and is return the users are required to give feedback regarding their experience with the update. This means that while all users in the Delta ring will receive new console updates prior to their official release, some Delta Insiders will receive updates before others.

If you want to take a step back, because it's too time consuming or simply using up too much bandwidth - as outlined in the table below - then you can do so. Microsoft is trying to simplify entry into the Insider Program through the use of a heirarchical ring program. Recently we partnered with our friends at Rare and already thousands of gamers are sailing the Sea of Thieves across both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

The Creators Collection is available on the Xbox One store as a button under "Addons" near the top.

Developers looking to get started on the Xbox Live Creators Program can find more information on how to enroll, download the SDK, and submit a game over on the program's developer portal. Not yet an Xbox Insider and interested in joining the program?
