The Sharp AQUOS S2 comes in Black, White, Blue and Green color variants, while the two RAM variants (4GB and 6GB RAM models) of the device are priced at 2,499 Yuan ($372) and 3,499 Yuan ($521), respectively.

Now in the line of Sharp 29 "frameless" devices, and the new Aquos S2 was the most powerful of them. The main highlights of the Sharp Aquos S2 are its 5.5-inch Full HD+ bezel-less screen display, dual rear camera setup, a narrow front-mounted fingerprint recognition module and Google's latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with Smile UX custom UI skin and RoboS AI.

None of this will matter much to customers out of Asia, as China is now the only market where the Aquos S2 is available and it's unlikely to go global. The new Sharp Aquos S2 comes in two variants based on its processing units, RAM and ROM configuration: Sharp Aquos S2 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, 4GB RAM & 64GB storage standard variant, and the Sharp Aquos S2 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6GB RAM & 128GB storage high-end Limited edition.

And on the back, the vertical dual camera is a dead ringer for the iPhone 8, if you believe all the recent rumors and leaks. Home button aside, the phone bears a strong resemblance to the Essential Phone, which was really the first to promote this style - even if it isn't actually on the market yet. Well, Sharp just announced the phone today, as speculated, yet the truth turned out to be somewhere in the middle. The display offers a 550 nits brightness and an impressive 135% of RGB colour coverage. This FFD technology takes the screen-to-body ratio of the Sharp Aquos S2 to 84.95 percent. The smartphone runs NAdroid 7.0 Nougat on board, with some tweaks over the top layer. The phone's physical keys are placed on the right and this device also sports a dual camera setup on the back, and below those two cameras, you'll notice an LED flash. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or 630, coupled with 4/6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of memory, 12-/8-megapixel cameras on the back, an 8-megapixel selfie cam on the front, and a 3,030mAh battery. Due to its screen-to-body ratio, the 5.5-inch display panel on the device feels like a 5-inch body. It has support for Bluetooth 5.0, dual cameras and Cat. The front imager has an 8-megapixel 1.4um sensor with f/2.0 aperture, which is pretty good given how compact the module is.

As you can see from the images, the Sharp Aquos S2 will have an odd finish on the rear panel. The front camera is an 8MP sensor. The device measures 141.8 x 72.04 x 7.9mm and weighs 140 grams.
