IN support of the global campaign to promote breastfeeding, SM Cares, in partnership with SM Seaside City Cebu, will be holding The Big Latch On (TBLO) 2017 on August 6 at the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu. This experience is part of a global event that aims to break the world record for the most women breastfeeding at the same time.

The 7th Annual Marquette County Big Latch On event will be held Saturday at the U.P. Children's Museum Courtyard.

The organization says that a year ago, 28 countries, 758 individual locations, 17,992 breastfeeding children and 17,852 breastfeeding women participated in the Global Big Latch On. Our local Big Latch On will take place on Saturday 5th August 2017 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm at the University of South Florida College of Public Health in Tampa. The Global Big Latch On provides the opportunity for breast-feeding women to get together in their communities, host their own events and identify opportunities for ongoing support.

Community members are invited event to celebrate, support and promote breastfeeding and breastfeeding mothers.

The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding exclusively for the first six months of a baby's life to optimize these benefits, continuing to breastfeed for two years and as long thereafter as is mutually desired by a woman and her child.
