Nigeria were on Thursday drawn against Ghana in the WAFU Cup of Nations scheduled to take place from September 9 to 24 in Ghana.

The other Group A matches Mali face Mauritania and Guinea play Guinea Bissau.

The competition has been scheduled for September 9 to September 24, and teams are expected to feature wholly home -based professionals.

Ghana and Nigeria have seven African titles between them, with the Super Eagles and the Black Stars featuring in the last two FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa (2010) and Brazil (2014).

Representatives of all the 16 participating countries have arrived in Ghana to attend the pre-tournament workshop, which would be held this morning.

The Black Stars' encounter with the Scorpions is one of four Zone A clashes, with each match victor making it to the group stage of the competition.

All the matches in zone B will be staged in Cape Coast.

The Cape Coast Stadium will also host Senegal vs Liberia, Burkina Faso vs. Niger, Cote d'Ivoire vs. Togo and Benin vs. Cape Verde.

However, no official statement has been made in that regard by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
