Virgil van Dijk's proposed switch to Liverpool is STILL ON, with the defending willing to force through his dream move to Anfield this summer, according to reports.

Liverpool were favourites to sign the 26-year-old but had to stop all negotiations after The Saints made an official complaint to the FA about the way Liverpool approached Van Dijk.

VIRGIL VAN DIJK could still become a £60million Liverpool player this summer after insisting he will only move to Anfield.

However, Saints will not be willing to let him go easily, as he was arguably the best defender in the Premier League last term before he picked up an injury that ruled him out from January to the end of the season.

Liverpool have bought many players from Southampton during recent years and among them are Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Dejan Lovren.

Arsenal have bolstered their squad significantly this summer with the additions of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette but Arsene Wenger continues to eye new signings for his side.

Other sides including Chelsea and Arsenal have been paired with an interest, but it still looks as though Liverpool lead the race, and their previously strong relationship with Southampton could be important.

Wenger also believes that Dembele could replace Sanchez at the club, but he is also looking to boost his defence as he also prepares a bid for Southampton's Holland global Virgil van Dijk.
