The company claims a battery life of over five hours on the 10W speaker. The KODAK EKTRA Smartphone is all about capturing the moment, telling a story, and revealing the experience of photography. The phone also comes with a physical shutter button and a design - carved out faux leather and plastic - that would remind you of old-school cameras. When the device is held horizontally, it fits perfectly in your hand- just like Kodak's most popular analog cameras. The rear camera is also capable of shooting in RAW. It also features a 5-inch full-HD display and is powered by a 3000mAh battery. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio X20 chipset, with a 2.3GHz CPU on top. The phone has got a 21 megapixel primary camera and 12 megapixel front camera. In its front, there is a 13-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. This phone runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OS. It also has an expandable storage slot. The Kodak Ektra also comes pre-loaded with Google's SNAPSEED photo-editing app, that provides best photo editing tools to edit images instantly and the Super 8 app for applying professional effects similar to Kodak's Super 8 film stocks.

The custom-built camera app is controlled by an intuitive haptic touch, SLR-style "Scene Selection Dial" where adjustments are made in real time via a range of settings, including HDR, landscape, portrait, macro, sport, night-time and panorama. This is achieved by the use of Kodak-certified lens coating that enables more light to reach the sensor without increasing ISO noise, brightening underexposed areas and stabilising blur from slow shutter speeds.

In terms of connectivity, the camera-centric Kodak Ektra offers various connectivity options including 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port for superfast charging and data transfer. Dimension wise, the handset measures 147.80 x 73.35 x 9.69 mm (height x width x thickness). "Dynamic Focus and Object Tracking give additional control over the camera focus while crisp, clear images are guaranteed through automatic Image Noise Reduction features, reducing the need for extensive post-editing", Bullitt Group, the Kodak licensee for mobile devices said in a press statement.

The Kodak branding means the phone is centered around photography. The Ektra was first showcased in October a year ago and was focused at users looking for advanced photography features from a smartphone camera.
