A second trailer for Blade Runner 2049 has been unveiled, offering more clues to what the Denis Villeneuve-directed film holds in store. Deckard is played by Harrison Ford, star of the original 1982 film.

The movie features an all-star cast including Ryan Gosling as Officer K, a new blade runner for the LAPD. The newest trailer, in which more of a desolate Los Angeles is revealed, only further cements this promise.

Deckard gives some hints about his disappearance 30 years prior: "I covered my tracks". "We were being hunted" is a rather clear statement, especially when paired with the line about scrambling records, but who knows.

Jared Leto, who portrays a villain in the film, also appears as he discusses how replicants will soon rise to prominence. "Every leap of civilization was built off the back of slaves", he says in monotone. It does offer more tantalizing glimpses of the future, as well as a few images that defy explanation.

'They know you're here, ' he suddenly says to Ryan, just before a hover auto crashes through the side of a building. I don't even need the context of this scene, I would just like to watch this fight over and over in IMAX, thank you. Harrison Ford's original character was nothing special, that was the point.

Blade Runner 2049 will open in theaters on October 6, 2017.
