Sanches, 19, victor of the 2016 Golden Boy award and voted best young player at Euro 2016, has struggled to meet expectations at Bayern since his move last summer from Benfica.

Hence, moving over to the San Siro would mean limited game time for Sanches, and it would not be the right move for a player already devoid of confidence and aiming to prove himself once more.

Renato Sanches could be on the move this summer.

Sanches arrived in Germany to great fanfare last season, fresh from Portugal's success at UEFA Euro 2016.

The 19-year-old looked to be on his way to becoming one of the best players in the world.

Bayern Munich have confirmed AC Milan want their midfield prodigy Renato Sanches.

Milan approached Bayern about signing Sanches on-loan, but it seems the German club would prefer a permanent deal.

Last season at Bayern, Sanches only made six Bundesliga starts for Munich, he only played in 17 league matches in total, while he failed to contribute a single goal or assist.

According to reports in Portugal, Milan are keen on taking the talented youngster on a €7 million loan deal for two seasons, with the option to buy in 2019 for an additional €40 million.

Rummenigge also commented on reports that Bayern would be reigniting their interest in Arsenal star Alexis Sánchez.

I have the impression that AC Milan are not ready to meet our economic demands, and as long as (that is the case) nothing will be done. At the price their CEO quoted, you would wonder if Jose Mourinho would be interested in signing the midfielder.
