"He obviously had a very special game too and he's a very special player".

"Just thought I'd switch it up", Ball added. He was already really excited about how hard he's going to run the lanes next year he was telling me.

"I was planning on playing for the Raptors until just a few days before Summer League and then I felt the Lakers were just a better opportunity for me and that's why I'm here playing for them right now".

Lonzo Ball has put up huge numbers in his past three NBA Summer League games. They've seen everything that they needed to see from the prized rookie. But he chose to wear Kobe Bryant's signature shoes against the 76ers Wednesday night. It is fantastic to watch.

The Lakers won the game 108-98 to advance to the Summer League final against the Portland Trail Blazers.

In a matchup between lottery point guards, Dennis Smith Jr. was the one that had fans gasping.

Ball has created a stir here with his choice of shoes for each game, from Big Baller Brand to Nike to Adidas to Under Armour. On Sunday, it was a pair of Jordan-brand shoes.

The 19-year-old on Wednesday night led the Lakes past the Philadelphia 76ers 103-102 in Summer League playoff action with a near triple-double performance with a game-high 36 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds along with five steals.

After receiving treatment, the highly-touted rookie point guard didn't return to the match and remained on the bench the entire last quarter. It's not surprising, he's a pass-first player always looking to get teammates involved. Ball continually got to the rim in transition and off the pick-and-roll while hitting a pair of 3-poitners in the process. Johnson stood up and applauded.

Briefly: Ferrell and Brandon Ashley both finished strong summer leagues. "You can see what he is all about, and he's a victor, that's what he is".

The Nets, who featured a roster with far more National Basketball Association experience, raced to 63 points and an eight-point lead at halftime. Ball had 16 points.

"Team effort", Ball said. "But I hope he saw a good game". First half, I think we shot like 70 percent or something insane like that.
