Although for now, the title has no official name, Arika refers to it as The Mysterious Fighting Game and at the beginning of the video, the letters EX are appreciated so many times assuring that it will be a new installment of the Street Fighter EX series.

More recently, fantastic fighters like Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 have given the genre a second boost - and we're seeing a new Dragonball Z game from Arc that looks like the flawless marriage.

Japanese fighting game developer Arika showed a first impression of their newest, yet untitled project on stage at this past weekend's fighting tournament Evo 2017, and you can see the first in-game footage in the video below, revealing that Arika's EX, as it's known, will be very similar to previous Arika titles. Since Arika developed some original fighters for the Street Fighter EX series, it still owns the rights to those characters and they will be a part of this new game. For many though, Street Fighter V was a big disappointment.

Arika stated that "This game will be the newest entry in the EX Series".

The new fighting title from Arika will arrive in 2018 on PlayStation 4 but according to the information of the new trailer, we will have a beta and test server period later this year.

You can see Skullomania and Darun Mister in action with the reveal trailer below courtesy of XusesGB. However, neither Arika nor Capcom has made any connection to Street Fighter so far. Pre-orders for Japan will be available during the beta test, but details on pre-orders for other regions as well as pre-order bonuses will be announced at a later date.
