Aaron Carter Arrested for DUI, Marijuana Possession in Georgia

Singer Aaron Carter slammed his star brother Nick Carter for his tweet regarding his DUI arrest and claimed the police "targeted" him due to fame.

Habersham County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Carter was released today in the afternoon after posting a bond set at $4,610. Carter's current girlfriend, Madison Parker, who was with Carter on Saturday night is also in a bit of legal trouble herself, Parker has also been charged with obstruction and two drug-related charges. Carter is accused of drunken driving and possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Aaron Carter, the brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, allegedly refused to blow into the breathalyzer, according to TMZ quoting the police of the county of Habersham.

He revealed on Twitter: "I'm entirely hurt by a so-called fan that I just encountered she wasn't realizing I was listening, she said I look like I have cancer".

Earlier that day, Carter's management team "tweeted" that the singer wouldn't be able to make his Kansas City, Missouri, concert, which was scheduled on July 15, due to "transportation issues". "That's not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down", the performer said in a statement. Both Aaron and Madison have remained silent on social media since their arrest.

In the long statement released, he shared his side of the story and thanked fans for standing by him.

According to the outlet's account of the incident, Aaron Carter's DUI arrest happened at 7:55 p.m. E.T. on Saturday where he was pulled over along Route 385 in Cornelia, Georgia.

Last month, Carter, 29, was hospitalized for exhaustion after a performance in Syracuse.
