Miami FC vs. FC Cincinnati game rescheduled for August 2

The match, which was to take place on Thursday, was called off after heavy thunderstorms in South Florida.

In the other semifinal pairing, either Miami FC (NASL) or FC Cincinnati (USL) will host the New York Red Bulls.

Hosting scenarios for the final two rounds of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup were unveiled by U.S. Soccer on Friday morning.

The 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the 104th installment of the competition, the third-longest consecutively running cup competition in the world and the oldest cup competition in the United States.

If FC Cincinnati tops Miami FC in its makeup match - set for 7:30 p.m. August 2 in Miami - the team will face the New York Red Bulls at Nippert Stadium, according to the MLS website. The makeup date for the game has not yet been announced.

The tournament wins earns an automatic berth in the CONCACAF Champions League. The club has won each of its last three semifinal meetings, claiming victories in 2004, 2012 and 2015 en route to lifting the tournament title on each occasion. The match was officially postponed at 9:30 p.m. due to severe lightning and storms.
