Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that short term political gain for Prime Minister Narendra Modi from PDP alliance in Jammu and Kashmir has cost India massively.

He had also said India would never be intimidated by terrorists.

Meanwhile, three Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed by security forces near Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday night.

Rahul equated Modi's personal gains to India's strategic loss and sacrifice of innocent Indian blood.

Gandhi had earlier accused Modi of pursuing policies that created space for terrorists in Kashmir.

Rahul Gandhi, in a tweet, had asked the Prime Minister to accept responsibility for the "grave and unacceptable security lapse". But it only shows the immature mind of a person who doesn't know the history of his own family.

"There are few questions he needs to answer: When Congress representative MS Aiyar goes to Pakistan and says please help us remove Narendra Modi and his government so that we can come back to power, is that strategy for Rahul Gandhi's personal gain or is that political strategy?", Irani asked further.

And then of course there was criticism from other opposition parties too that have been demanding that the Centre explain the intelligence failure that led to the attack.

He said the BJP is deliberately speaking in multiple voices to spread confusion so that no one talks about their "incompetence and inability to tackle terrorism".

Targeting the government, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep S Surjewala said the attack was a matter of serious security lapse on the part of the government and security forces.

Singhvi said while the Union ministers and BJPs deputy CM in Jammu and Kashmir Nirmal Singh is conceding that "there was definitely a lapse in security", BJP General Secretary in- charge of the state Ram Madhav sharply contradicted them saying "there was no security lapse".

"On 27th June, there was a clear intelligence input from SSP Anantnag that terrorists are directing their focus on Amarnath pilgrims".
