Four including security official martyred in Khyber Agency blast

According to sources security forces were on a routine patrolling exercise in Medan Valley when a planted mine went off that resulted in the the martyrdom of one security personnel and three civilians strolling around.

The security agencies and FC have reached to the site as injured have been rushed to nearby hospital.

Four people, including a soldier and two paramilitary forces, have been killed by the explosion of a bomb hidden in a plastic bag, in a tribal region in north-west Pakistan, said Saturday the local authorities.

Mohammad Iqbal Khan said the remote controlled bomb was detonated in Tirah valley in the Khyber tribal region as volunteers from a peace committee were moving into the area.

Soon after the blast, security forces cordoned off the whole area and a massive search operation was also launched to hunt the culprits. Those killed were identified as Naik Mehmud Shah, Levies Naik Bagh Mir, and two civilians.

The army had launched Operation Raddul Fasaad in February following a spate of terror attacks in the country, which claimed more than a hundred lives and left hundreds others injured.
