GST Could Be Studied In US Business-Schools: PM Narendra Modi

"When India talked of terrorism 20 years back, many in the world said it was a law and order problem and didn't understand it". No one in the world criticised or questioned India, Modi said, except "those at the receiving end of it", PM Modi said to loud cheers. "Now terrorists have explained terrorism to them so we don't have to", Modi said at a community reception at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner, Virginia. PM Modi tore into Pakistan while pointing out that no country questioned India's surgical strikes on terror launchpads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in September past year. "Those who suffered (Pakistan) because of this, is a different thing", Modi said while addressing the members of Indian diaspora here on Sunday.

India has been successful in convincing the world about the "face of terrorism" and that it was "destroying peace and normal life", Modi said ahead of his first meeting with US President Donald Trump, who had reportedly offered to mediate between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue drawing sharp reactions from New Delhi.

Following the interaction, the prime minister said in his speech to the Indian community in Washington: "The government in three years has been blemishless".

The US government - backed strongly by the pharmaceutical lobby - is expected to step up pressure on several governments, including India and others in Asia and Latin America, to enforce and protect intellectual property of pharmaceutical corporations - an approach that has led to high drug prices in the US and around the world by limiting competition.

India is set to purchase 22 unmanned Guardian MQ-9B drones from the United States, pending formal approval from the US Congress. "We are bound by global laws". For us the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam-the world is one family-are not just words.
