Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Liverpool and Chelsea on alert with Arsenal star annoyed

With just one year remaining on the contract of England worldwide Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, talks were expected to advance easily on a new deal for the Arsenal star, but with no news since the end of the season, reports are now surfacing that the player is becoming frustrated with the lack of progress. Oxlade-Chamberlain's contract has just 12 months remaining, but he is hoping to take a risk by switching positions next year in order to earn a new contract.

The 23-year-old was told that he could expect a quick conclusion regarding his new deal with Arsenal eager to secure their attacker's future.

However, almost a month after the end of the season, formal talks are yet to commence.

The versatile midfielder, who also played as a right wing-back last season for the Gunners, is subject to interest from Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, all of whom would like to exploit the contract situation and add a home-grown talent to their ranks.
