At a rambling press conference on Friday, Griffin tearfully predicted her career was over and said Mr. Trump "broke me".

During her press conference with attorney Lisa Bloom, Griffin stated that she was very anxious about her career collapsing following her controversial post.

Griffin, 56, apologized within hours of the images appearing online Tuesday, but they were met with swift and widespread condemnation. "I'm gonna do it more".

Trump responded to Griffin on Twitter writing, "Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself". She said she realized what the POTUS was trying to do when he brought up 11-year-old son Barron, who Trump alleged was traumatized by the bloody shot.

The Secret Service has opened an investigation into the creepy photo and video Griffin tweeted Tuesday, forcing the comic to hire a criminal defense attorney to handle any charges.

Sen. Al Franken said what Griffin did "was inappropriate and not something that should be anywhere in our national discourse". What's happening to me has never happened in this great country.

"Regarding the image, that apology absolutely still stands".

Her open statements at the conference were, "I'm not afraid of Donald Trump".

Griffin and Bloom believe the comedian has received harsher backlash because she is female. "I'm teasing the President".

"This is America, you shouldn't have to die" over comedy, she added.

"The death threats are constant and they are detailed and they are serious and they are specific". "I may get arrested today, I don't know".

But that hasn't stopped Griffin from completely acting like the "victim", according to Donald Trump Jr., the first son of President Trump.

Ms. Griffin says, "I'm not laying down for this guy, I'm going to keep making jokes about this guy. I have no desire to hurt anybody. I made a mistake and I was wrong". "I'm going to be honest, he broke me", she cried.

"Kathy did not forget that disgusting remark", the lawyer said, explaining that it prompted her to team up with a photographer to show "what it would look like if his own insults were turned on him".
