Don't do a Van Dijk: Morata agrees to Man United deal

"He wants to play more, which makes sense for a striker who scored 19 goals [in all competitions]".

Whomever United set their sights on Cole believes they have to look at the wider picture and bring in attacking players who are more creative. It's too little. It was a brilliant season for Real Madrid, who won so many titles.

The agent of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata confirms that his in-demand client will make a decision over his future in the coming days.

Lopez reiterates that he has "not yet met with the representatives from Real Madrid".

Indeed, Morata improved in Turin as the 2014-15 season went on and he scored in both legs of the Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid, goals which knocked out his parent club.

Morata is rumoured to have told close friends that he desires to play Premier League football with United in 2017/18, and the lure of working with Mourinho once more has seemingly proved too good an opportunity for the 24-year-old to turn down.

Real Madrid have recused themselves from the chase for David de Gea, opting to keep faith with Keylor Navas - which should negate any chance of a player+cash swap deal taking place.

Even if Zinedine Zidane can not guarantee regular game time next season, leaving Real Madrid this summer remains a big risk, and it seems the player understands that.

What if he doesn't adapt?

Morata is a primary Manchester United transfer target for a reason.

"We're two national teams with great pride".

Although the Old Trafford side are confident of negotiating a transfer at a lower price if they can pay most of the fee up front.

Morata himself has always been very receptive to a move to England, and was apparently keen on a move to Chelsea to link up with Antonio Conte once again last summer, a move that never materialised when Zinedine Zidane chose to keep him at the Bernabeu. City did not disclose the length of his contract.

Manchester United's search for an elite striker could be about to come to a very satisfying conclusion with Alvaro Morata likely to join the club.
