First victim of London attacks named as Chrissy Archibald

A Canadian woman killed in the London terror attack would have had "no understanding of the callous cruelty that caused her death", her family said as they paid tribute to her.

Today, in front of Castlegar City Hall, long-time family friend Patrick Audet released this statement from her family.

The family asked that people honour her memory by making the community a better place - volunteering or donating to a homeless shelter.

It was unclear as of press time which Calgary homeless shelter she volunteered at.

Earlier, the Archibald family released a statement through the Canadian government that she had worked in a homeless shelter until she moved to Europe to be with Ferguson.

He said: "These hateful acts do not deter us; they only strengthen our resolve".

He said he was "heartbroken to learn that a Canadian is among those who lost their lives".

Canada would continue to work with Britain and its other allies to fight terrorism, Trudeau added.

Andrew Morrison survived being stabbed in the neck during the deadly attack on Saturday, his last night in the British capital before he was due to fly back to Australia.

The attack killed at least seven people and injured 48 others before police killed three suspects.

Police say the same vehicle continued to the nearby restaurant district of Borough Market, where three attackers jumped out and began stabbing people in the street.

Mr Dowling (32), from Christchurch, is said to have had four hours of surgery for his injuries and is in an induced coma.

One Frenchman is also reported to be among the dead. Another man - who, I understand, received stitches - is on his way back to Australia.

Sky News Australia showed footage of him holding a bandage around his neck, saying: "All of a sudden a guy comes up with a knife, I ducked it, but he got me", he said in the footage.

Sunday Express business editor Geoff Ho was also slashed in the throat after reportedly stepping in to help a lone bouncer being targeted by the attackers. And there is a third Australian.
