Los Angeles Angels: Where Does Albert Pujols Rank All Time?

Pujols is one of this generation's good guys and for him to reach a milestone that only eight previous players have reached in their careers is something special.

Former St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols became the ninth player to crack the 600 home run plateau with a blast Saturday against the Minnesota Twins. Pujols moved to the West Coast almost six years ago after 11 spectacular seasons in St. Louis. Former Giants and Pirates outfielder Barry Bonds is the all-time career home run leader with 762.

Yankees 7, Blue Jays 0: Brett Gardner, Matt Holliday, Starlin Castro and Didi Gregorius all hit solo home runs in the eighth inning, leading Jordan Montgomery and NY over Toronto. Less than two decades later, Pujols has become one of just nine men in the history of the country's pastime to slug 600 home runs during the regular season.

"I don't play here for numbers", Pujols said this week after hitting No. 599.

The 37-year-old Pujols is the fourth-youngest player to hit 600 homers behind Alex Rodriguez, Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. "I'm glad he got it done".

Red Sox 5, Orioles 2: David Price took a three-hitter into the eighth inning to earn his first victory of the season, Hanley Ramirez homered and drove in three runs for Boston.

I think the Angels can build off what they did last night against a great pitcher in Santana.

"It's pretty incredible", Trout said. Pujols came up next with a chance to give the Angels back-to-back-to-back homers - but he struck out on three pitches.
