NBA Eastern Conference Game 4: Celtics vs Cavaliers

It was Green who was suspended for Game 5 of last year's Finals for a swipe at James' groin - and Golden State wound up squandering a 3-1 series lead and chance at a repeat title.

They played great basketball this year. The Boston Celtics, 102.

Games 1 and 2 of this series took place in Boston, and the Cavaliers still won each of those games easily.

Golden State has an average in-game win probability of almost 72 percent during the playoffs - the same as the Cavs, despite playing a tougher set of opponents than the Cavaliers.

This apparently has been lost on Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue, who following Cleveland's Game 5 demolition of the Boston Celtics mentioned that his team has been doubted all season long. They likely have the two best teams in the league on paper, and everyone knew they'd get to this point. But the points bring LeBron to 5,995 career playoff points, passing Jordan's all-time record of 5,987.

Cleveland had even more rest in the postseason.

"He just never had the opportunity because of the team at that point in time".

Smart, who started in place of Thomas, said, "Everybody had to step up their game, especially with one of our brothers down". And finally, let's assume point guard Isaiah Thomas is completely healthy and available for the entire second round of these past playoffs, increasing the baseline of their win shares per 48 before adding the new players. We wish he could be out there, but we understand. "Everybody did their part".

With Cleveland in jeopardy of dropping their second game in a row after James followed an 11-point game three by picking up four first-half fouls, Irving put on a breathtaking one-man show in the third quarter. The star of the Cleveland Cavaliers is at the peak of his career. Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving combined for 57 points, but it was the unusually weak 4th quarter performance by James that had everyone second guessing.

LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers small forward, broke a long-standing National Basketball Association record Wednesday when he scored his 5,989th career playoff point. He wasn't happy with the four personal fouls he racked up in the first half of game four. The backups took care of things in the fourth quarter. That is the when Irving was unleashed.

Bill Laimbeer, stalwart of the Detroit Pistons' "Bad Boys" teams that were once the bane of Jordan's Bulls, says that attention to every aspect of the game makes James, for him, the best ever.

Irving took over the game to take some of the pressure off of his teammate, James, and the Celtics couldn't stop anything Irving did. They were as dominant during the regular season as the Cavs have been during the playoffs - and the Warriors have found their own playoff switch as well. They may be defending champions and they may have LeBron James, but against Golden State, they are definite underdogs. It may not have been an ending seen coming given that the Warriors had a multi game lead at one point.
