1 dead in shooting outside Boulder restaurant; suspect in custody

One person is dead and another is in police custody after a shooting outside a restaurant near Boulder's Pearl Street mall.

The suspect was taken into custody after the chef wrestled him to the ground and held him until police arrived.

A man was fatally shot just after midnight today following what police believe was an argument between two people inside the Bramble & Hare restaurant in downtown Boulder. They went outside, and shots were fired.

It's not yet clear what the shooter and the victim were arguing about. Police believe they then went back inside, and could have fired more gunshots.

An adult male victim was taken to Boulder Community Health, where he was pronounced dead. The name will be released by the Boulder County Coroner's Office once positive identification is made and next of kin are notified.

Monday morning's Bolder Boulder 10K race route is not affected by the investigation.

Unidentified: None of those involved in the shooting outside the restaurant (center) have yet been identified by police.
