The couple awoke early Monday morning only to find out a black bear tried to break in into their doughnut delivery vehicle destroying on his way the car's back bumper.

There were no doughnuts inside it at the time but Kim Robertson says the smell that had lingered in the auto appeared to have attracted the bear.

They thought it was hit by another vehicle until they noticed the claw and paw marks.

"That auto just constantly smells like a rolling bakery", Robertson said.

Robertson and her husband, Todd (pictured), initially thought it had been struck by another vehicle.

There were no doughnuts at the time in the Ford Focus, but there were some sweet-smelling aprons.

Todd Robertson said there were no doughnuts in the vehicle, which was parked in their driveway in the 3300 block of Columbine Drive, at the time of the bear encounter.

Robertson posted on Facebook shortly after it happened: 'Yogi wanted the donuts.dang bear.

The suspect left on his way paw prints after his unsuccessful attempt.

Kim Robertson joked that with bears now going after doughnuts in town, some of the pressure from "doughnut jokes" had been taken off of the local police for the week.

In honor of the bear that snatched the bumper, the Moose Watch Cafe is offering an appropriate treat: bear claws.
