"He helped me a lot this season on and off the pitch".

Chelsea host Sunderland in the final game of the season as the Blues look to end what has been a vastly memorable Premier League campaign on a high.

"Gary is our vice captain this season".

But RMC claims that it's José Mourinho and Antonio Conte who are leading the battle for the player, and the Blues have even prepared a bid for him, which is said to be of €45m. If the players don't go into the idea with the right will or desire, it's very hard for any coach to have a good season.

"It was very important to find the right solution to celebrate a great champion, a great legend for this club, I think he deserved to start the game", Conte said.

The 36-year-old former England captain appeared for the Blues for the 717th time, starting in the Premier League for the sixth time this season.

There had been speculation that Terry might have retired, he admitted as much as after the game against Watford on Monday night, but his quotes after this match confirm what most have suspected, that he will carry on playing.

"He's strong. In the moment I called on him to play, he showed this".

Chelsea are looking for their 30th win in the competition, the most by any club in the top flight, having gone on a splendid run following defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal in September. I am proud Italy fans love me.

I've not followed @ChelseaFC or John Terry. Sunderland is without 11 senior players through injury as it brings the curtain down on a season to forget.

During that time the club have also won four FA Cups.

Defender Lamine Kone and midfielder Didier Ndong are the latest absentees because of dead legs.

Jan Kirchhoff, Paddy McNair and Duncan Watmore are all long-term absentees, but beleaguered manager Moyes is missing a number of other players for the trip to west London.

Paddy McNair, Duncan Watmore, Jan Kirchhoff, Steven Pienaar, George Honeyman, Wahbi Khazri, Jason Denayer, Victor Anichebe and Papy Djilobodji all missed the midweek trip to the Emirates Stadium.

Mourinho's title winners had held the record for the most top-flight wins by an English club in a 38-game season.

"It's an opportunity because, in the last summer, I had no chance to have a holiday because we started with Chelsea after three days from the Euros".
