A worker at one of the station's fast food eateries said the incident was the second time the screen had displayed pornographic content, but Swain-Staley said she was not familiar with any other incidents.

The video was apparently streamed from the explicit website PornHub, according to the Washington Post, which first reported the incident.

Officials at Washington's Union Station said hackers might be to blame for an advertising video screen showing graphic pornography.

A video of the shocking incident quickly went viral after it was uploaded to Twitter.

"What the hell is this?" one man shouts out pointing at the screen.

That woman said: "I was pretty speechless. I couldn't believe this was happening in public and especially during rush hour", the woman who shot the video told the Post.

The porn played for an entire three minutes, before some valiant citizen (i.e., buzzkill) pulled the plug on the screen.

Around 5:30 p.m., an ad board near the Metro entrance at Union Station started playing pornographic videos, said Beverley Swaim-Staley, president and CEO of the Union Station Redevelopment Corporation.

The screens were installed several months ago, and an official with the station's management told the Post that the screen in question will remain off until an investigation is complete. Like when they play porn, for example.
