Bella was one of the stars on the world-famous red carpet at the film festival's opening ceremony and screening of Ismael's Ghosts, along with the likes of Susan Sarandon, Elle Fanning, Naomie Harris and Emily Ratajkowski.

Netflix's films at the Cannes Film Festival haven't even aired yet, but they've already been banned from entering into future festivals unless they allow their films to be shown in French cinemas - and jury member Will Smith is taking a stand. After knowing how to manage with grace the little squall that came to raise the skirts of her dress, she unfortunately revealed her underwear on the first steps leading to the Palais des Festivals. Or no legs at all!

A pair of encrusted danglers and a ring from the jewellery brand De Grisogono were the only accessories she chose to wear. Bella completed her outfit with strappy stilettos and a stunningly elegant sapphire necklace.

The prestige and pageantry of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival was famously interrupted when Bella Hadid totally owned the red carpet in an eye-popping side-slit red dress. However, although Hadid managed, miraculously, to avoid a mishap last year, she was not so lucky this year.

The brand shared the red carpet photos of the "Piku" star on their official Twitter handle.

And here he is blessing us with his presence on the red carpet. Oops! Bella Hadid suffers wardrobe malfunction at Cannes - New York Daily News: New York... https://t.co/ltPzNEATj2 - GamePlayViews (@GamePlayViews) May 18, 2017 Bella was photographed greeting actress Susan Sarandon, 70, on the red carpet.

During her appearance, the brunette star also stopped and posed alongside her friend Emily Ratajkowski, who was also wearing a slinky silk TwinSet by Simona Barbieri gown and a multi-jewel choker from Bulgari.

Now I've got to say, I love a thigh split dress.

Lily-Rose Depp was definitely up there too. I don't think I should be giving any advice to someone who has already walked several worldwide red carpets.

Smith, who has not had a film play at Cannes before, was dressed dapperly and posing cheerfully with festival-goers screaming "Will!"
