Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson will appeal to Labour voters to switch allegiance as she launches her party's General Election manifesto.

Labour MSP Anas Sarwar said losing seats is "disappointing" for the party.

Ms Davidson will accuse Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale of leaving voters in Aberdeen "betrayed" with her decision to suspend all nine of her party's city councillors for striking a coalition deal with the Tories.

Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives have all had their moment in the sun over the past week, but attentions will turn north of the border today as the Prime Minister launches the Scottish Tories manifesto.

Mr Rowley said: "The rules of the party are quite clear, they state that Labour groups must not enter into any arrangements with other parties to determine political control and management of a local authority which do not comply with the Scottish Executive's approved options".

So, after today, @scottishlabour has 5 councillors north of Dundee (6 if you count Carse of Gowrie).

Whittet told BuzzFeed News that the SNP can not win in the area so Sturgeon's candidate must stand down to ensure a pro-independence MP is sent to Westminster instead of the odds-on favourite Lib Dem candidate.

Scots rejected independence in 2014, but the Scottish National Party (SNP) says they should have a fresh choice as they voted to stay in the European Union previous year, at odds with the United Kingdom's overall decision to leave.

"It may well find its way back".

"You can vote for a Scotland where we put the real issues of our jobs, our economy and our public services first".

But Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson, who joined May at the campaign event Friday, dismissed the idea.

The Tory leader will also claim her party is "rooted to the centre ground" and is "committed to workers' rights, boosting low pay, getting a good deal for fishermen and improving the education of our young people".

"Together, with your help, we can lead the fightback against the SNP and stop Nicola Sturgeon trying to pull our country apart".

Edinburgh, where the SNP is the largest group, failed at its first full meeting on Thursday to appoint an administration, amid reports that Labour, now in third place behind the Conservatives, has been warned off deals with both the SNP and Tories by party leaders.

"This Tory manifesto means every Conservative candidate in Scotland is standing on a platform endorsing the abhorrent rape clause, the bedroom tax and swingeing cuts to social security payments".

SNP deputy leader Angus Robertson accused the Conservatives of arrogance. In seats like East Lothian, Coatbridge, Chryston and Bellshill, East Renfrewshire and others, Labour is in second place to the nationalists.

"Voters across Scotland have a chance to reject further austerity and a divisive second independence referendum by voting Labour on June 8".
