Chelsea got the goal and they deserve to win the league.

Michy Batshuayi came off the bench to net the only goal of the match against West Bromwich Albion, with the three points securing the crown with two matches to spare.

It didn't look like it was going to be Chelsea's day against a team mired in a six-match losing streak coming into Friday's contest.

Antonio Conte's Chelsea won the Premier League title on Friday, beating West Brom 1-0 as the Italian coach won the league in his first-ever season in England.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has dedicated his team's Premier League title achievement to his players, while attributing the triumph to hard work and not luck, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

It sealed a 1-0 win at The Hawthorns and Batshuayi had just won the league for Chelsea.

A video posted on Chelsea's official Twitter account showed reserve goalkeeper Asmir Begovic tipping an ice bucket over Conte as he entered the changing room while Diego Costa sprayed him with champagne.

Batshuayi's 82nd-minute strike was only his second league goal, and first since August, in a tough first season in England.

"It's good working against the top managers, which Conte is. It is my first Premier League title", Chelsea defender Luiz, who has been a defensive rock since returning to the club this season after two years in Paris, said.

His moves in the transfer market, his tactical switches, and his late substitutions have all come off. I did this to try to win and Michy repaid me a lot for my choice. This season they show me great attitude, great patience, great will, great desire to try to do something great in this season.

But he's taken it all in his stride.

Chelsea - the league leader since early November - has won 28 of its 36 games, including nine of its last 11 matches, to resist a late title challenge by Tottenham. Three days later Chelsea beat Middlesbrough to go seven points ahead with three games remaining - making the title a formality.

Our team has been hindered by injuries in each of our recent campaigns, which has to be somewhat blamed on our busy schedule, and maybe we should not be so downbeat about the prospect of playing outside the Champions League next term. The power in English soccer was supposed to shift back to the north, but Conte had other ideas.

Chelsea players were being frustrated by a stubborn West Brom defending deep and in numbers, so Conte made a decision to take off Eden Hazard and Pedro Rodriguez and bring on Batshuayi - surprisingly - and Willian.
