'The Walking Dead' Cast Teases Season Eight: 'A Gigantic Tale to Come'

The seventh season of The Walking Dead may be drawing to a close, but showrunner Scott Gimple has assured fans that the entire series still has a long way to go before ending.

One thing is for certain.

Addressing a crowd assembled at the opening night of PaleyFest in Los Angeles, Gimple acknowledged the fact that the first episode of season eight will be the show's 100th episode. Although because I'm working on season 8 now, the foot is on the gas again! How it'll all play out remains to be seen (granted you haven't read the comics, of course), but whatever ends up happening, it's nice to know that, as Gimple says, "there is an ending" this year.

But just because we won't be getting an epic troll-worthy beauty of a cliff, doesn't mean Gimple isn't already looking forward to the future of the show.

Too much hype? Perhaps, but the show has had some truly spectacular finales over the years, both season and midseason, so we aren't anxious about it not being able to deliver. The site will provide you the latest news and features going into the season finale, and make sure you're ready for the final confrontation. And hopefully that's what we're about to get.

Although Negan was teased for months leading up to the Season 6 finale and all through the wait for Season 7, his presence on AMC's monster hit has only been detrimental to fan engagement. It is exciting and it's very emotional and I believe it's amusing in a couple parts, and it builds and builds and builds and it explodes. And others were just wonderful to watch because of the great physical effects and the effort that the cast put into making it all look real.

All of the flavours? This season has followed Rick and the gang's continued efforts to build an army large enough to take down Negan and the Saviors, so that "quantum intense" finale will likely depict an all-out war.
