Move over Legoland: UK could get its own Disneyland in five years

The impressive attraction will boast more than 50 rides, a 2,000-seat theatre and its own nightclub.

New illustrations show what the £3.5 billion Paramount London Entertainment Resort will look like when it opens in 2021.

It's an enormous theme park which is being dubbed the UK's answer to Disneyland.

The park will cost a staggering £3.5bn and will feature 50 fantastic rides and attractions.

Plans for the project will be officially submitted in November, reports Essex Live.

London Paramount will be built near Dartford in Kent, covering an area of 872 acres.

Paramount is the California studio behind some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters, including "Titanic", the "Transformers" series, "Iron Man" and "Forrest Gump".

The park will be made up of a number of themed zones with rides and attractions, such as Adventure Isle, Land of Legends, Cartoon Circus, Starfleet Command, Action Square, Port Paramount and Entertainment City, according to The Telegraph.

Early forecasts predict an intake of up to 40,000 visitors per day once the park is open for business.

He also said the projected price for a day ticket will be £57.

A project from British company London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) and its parent Kuwaiti European Holding Group (KEH), the theme park, which won't actually be based in London but just outside in Swanscombe Peninsula, North Kent. Estimates suggest it could create as many as 33,000 jobs.

"We have the financial backing to take us all the way through that process", he added.

If approved by the government building work can start as soon as 2019 - two years later than the original projections.

Chief executive David Testa resigned after Chinese investment firm SinoFortone raised doubts over their £100million pledge, but Percy insisted Testa's departure was "coincidental" and he has resigned to "go off and do other things".
