Star Wars: The Last Jedi is due out in theaters December 15.

The Disney CEO offered some footage of the upcoming Star Wars sequel, The Last Jedi, at the company's annual shareholder meeting in Denver Wednesday - and the footage apparently included a pretty major spoiler for the movie. But, presuambly, a father would recognize his own daughter, right?

What Luke's words do imply, however, is that The Last Jedi will primarily be an exploration of who Rey is - where she came from and, more importantly, where she's going. Now everyone can start speculating on what she says in response, and you don't get to just say, "I'm Rey".

As was already revealed, The Last Jedi picks off directly where The Force Awakens left off, with Rey extending her arm to give Luke his lightsaber.

This also introduces the possibility of Yoda appearing in Star Wars: Episode 8 in Force Ghost form, as previously reported. Rey's response is a flourish of lightsaber swings, showing off her skilled handling of the weapon. "Certainly Skywalker wouldn't recognize her as an adult if he abandoned her as a child".

The actress reportedly has an expanded role in "The Last Jedi". The other problem with this line is a bit more insidious. The film follows-up and continues the story of the next generation of the saga as Rey, Poe, Finn, and Kylo Ren find their place in the galaxy and follow the legacy of Luke Skywalker, Leia, and Han Solo.

"When you're heading into Star Wars Celebration, I think that all of the fans are at least expecting a trailer that is longer than a teaser".

Previous Star Wars movie The Force Awakens introduced Rey, a character with a mysterious past.
