Mario Kart 8 will play an important role in the Switch's 2017 release schedule, as Nintendo has high hopes that the game will tide fans over until the release of Splatoon 2 this summer.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will come with all of Mario Kart 8's DLC, including The Legend of Zelda's Link and Animal Crossing's Isabelle playable characters.

Are you excited to play Mario Kart 8 on the Switch? It is scheduled to hit stores on April 28. Although a port, this will be one of the first major games Nintendo releases for its new console following the hybrid home/portable system's launch on March 3. For those seeking a challenge, Gold Mario awaits the finest players who can complete all cups in 200cc. This is not a bad thing, as Kart 64 pretty much nailed the formula, with the only things it could have benefited from having been more courses, more racers, more karts, more weapons and - well, just more of everything Nintendo can give us. Oh sure, there was a mode bearing that name, but it was a far cry from the simple but engrossing battle mode of Mario Karts past.

When the Nintendo Switch launched last Friday, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the only game anyone was talking about.

Mario Kart Double Dash!

Mario Kart 8 is not a new game by any measure - it came out almost three years ago - but it is making a comeback on the Nintendo Switch as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

You can join your friends in multiple ways. Lastly, the Deluxe also allows players to pay in split-screen mode on the Switch, for up to four players, when it is hooked to the TV. The opposing team has to escape and break their teammates out of prison. The report said that the battle mode options can be played on eight dedicated courses.

If you are looking to jump into the upcoming game and enjoy what it has to offer, Nintendo has a video for you to look over before purchasing the racing title.

Balloon Battle: In this oldie but goodie, players earn points by popping balloons on the back of their opponents' karts. The are five game types in total - classic Balloon Battle, Bob-omb Blast, Coin Battle, Shine Thief, and the new Renegade Roundup, where you must lock your opponents in a jail cell.
