Cleveland Browns Reportedly Looking To Trade For Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo

In an ideal world, they'd keep both of their first round picks, but that might not be possible.

It's possible the Patriots will try to sign Garoppolo to a contract that would be the envy of backup quarterbacks everywhere, but if he's a competitor, he has to be itching to be a starter.

The Patriots drafted Garoppolo in the second round in 2014. "I think the Patriots will decide whether [to trade Garoppolo] based on the deal they're offered and Cleveland has enough assets to entice them".

La Canfora also stated that the Cleveland Browns appear to be interested in Garoppolo and can dangle the 12th overall pick in the draft.

How can Belichick be sure that 39-year-old Tom Brady will play another 10 years, the quarterback's stated goal, or even one healthy year after Sunday's Super Bowl? "Obviously he's a tremendous coach, and has done a tremendous job with that offense". However, declines can happen quickly and unexpectedly, and if the Patriots think Brady's end may be nearer than expected, they may want to hold onto Garoppolo as opposed to having to find a replacement via free agency or the draft. "Loggains is now the Bears' offensive coordinator". He goes to Buffalo or the Jets, and you have to deal with him twice a year. "I don't talk to Jimmy about that type of stuff because that's not my business".

It seems to be a foregone conclusion that the Chicago Bears will move on from Jay Cutler this offseason.

This offseason is certainly shaping up to be a critical one for this Bears regime. The former second-round selection out of Eastern Illinois has not seen much time on the field, but what we have seen from Garoppolo has been great. There are just so many things going on.

Would he like to be back home near Chicago? "Every quarterback is a little bit different, but it's been a real good year". We've seen it all these past few months, from "stick with Robert Griffin III" to "let's start an A.J. McCarron rumor".

"No, not really, " he said. Garoppolo is represented by Don Yee's firm (Brady's agent), so he's going to know how long Brady is going to play. It's kind of the culture that's been built there. "Just to focus on that [the Falcons] alone is all I can do". "That's all we can do". He won both starts in relief of Tom Brady who was serving a four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate.
